i believe i have a uti. i need to go to the washroom a lot and it stings. any possible easy treatments? this is my first one. instead of cranberry juice can i take a cranberry pill? im not a big fan of the juice :P
  • sunshine blossom replied on Sun, 24 Jan, 2010
I don't know if this will help the stinging but drinking cranberry juice will get rid of it way faster and just to make sure you don't get another try drinking cranberry juice a couple times a month
  • lstgrl23 replied on Sun, 24 Jan, 2010
you could try AZO tablets. it kinda helps to diminish the sting and it makes you urinate orange. they also sell AZO test strips and those are to see if you really have a UTI. but honestly, don't wait too long, i had a UTI about two months ago and i didn't worry about it until a week later and by then i was having a fever of about 100* on and off all day for a week. it's best to go to the doctor for antibiotics. a UTI can lead to a kidney infection and that's WAY worse than a UTI. just saying. good luck and hope you get better fast :) oh yeah and drink lots of fluids..
  • LAZMUM replied on Sun, 24 Jan, 2010
Try cranberry juice or pill,Garlic Or in pill form & natural live yogurt ( cranberry to soothe, garlic to disinfect (natural antiseptic) yogurt to put the good bacteria back, drink plenty of water to make you pee ( you produce small amounts when you got a uti) first to see if it eases it,you might need antibiotics but Still use the yogurt.Hope it helps.Good Luck.

Try cranberry juice diluted with a bit of water. Try to steer clear of liquids that are high in acids. Also, you can buy an over-the-counter medicine called Azo, which will probably help. Warning ahead of time. Azo will turn your pee a bright neon orange, so don't panic if you take it and this happens.
  • batraylover replied on Sun, 24 Jan, 2010
First, get yourself an AZO test strip at the drug store to see if you have an actual UTI (it's a home test kit). If you do, you can take Urinary Pain Relief Tablets (active ingredient pyridium) to get rid of the urgency and burning. It will turn your urine bright orangish/yellow for a couple of days. Take it for 72 hours, two tablets three times a day, and take it with concentrated cranberry capsules or tablets as well. Use a second AZO test strip 96 hours after the first one, if it still shows positive, then you need to see a doctor to get an antibiotic.
